Painting Sequence - STEP 2 - Paint distant and mid ground:
- Mountain spaces _ some areas brown and other parts grays
- Mid Hills _ shades of grays
- Trees far left side of River _ various colors
- Trees right side of River _ shades of greens and blues
- Shrubs _ shades of green

Painting Sequence - STEP 3 - Remove Masking on Mountain
Paint in colors:
- Mid-ground Hills/Trees - Varied Blues and greens; Center Hill - Dark Grays
- Front Hill_ Greens, Blues, Spots of Brown/orange on trees
adding shadowed areas and textures
- Use Negative Painting to define foreground hill and trees
- River _ Greens

Painting Sequence - STEP 4 - Remove Masking on trees in foreground hill
- Define Shapes, Add and Deepen Shadows along with Using Negative Painting to:
- Mountain peak, valleys, and ridges and midground hill and foreground hill
- Tall trees and shrubs in the foreground
- On foreground hill, paint in rocks along river and the lighter colors on 'unmasked trees'
- Paint the 'shadowed' bush and its shadow - shades of blue
- Add areas in River of darker green
- Paint in shrubs and rocks adding shadows and highlights

- Paint Man and Canoe and Oars
- Add details to dead trees and downed tree
- Add Reflections and Currents to River
- Deepen shadows and add highlights to Rocks, Trees, and Shrubs as needed
